Jade Cove Field Trip Report

Nephrite Jade

Deb and I will be there July 28th Wed-Aug 1st Sunday. We had a great turnout for this field trip 52 rockhounds showed up. From the Tri clubs and a few other clubs.  The campgrounds were full by Sat. Everyone found a place to camp and spend the night. We collected daily finding
some nice Nephrite Jade pieces. The weather was warmer in the beginning of the week and cooler the weekend, but not cold. We collected at Jade Cove, Sand Dollar Beach, Willow Creek and a few other coves nearby. Sat night we had a potluck, lot's of good food and rockhounds. Deb and I, Mike, Diana, Brian, Greg Miller. Brett Johnson brought some silver wire and wire wrapped a few nephrite jade pieces, one he gave to Deb. Sumi Fisher found some nice vulcan nephrite Jade, if your reading this Sumi, bring it in to the September meeting.
