Procedures for Checking Out Books

Our books are located in our monthly club meeting room at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center, where they are arranged A-to-Z on shelves by last names of authors.  To assist you in locating books that might be of most immediate interest, within this catalogue they are grouped into categories (field trips, lapidary arts, fossils, etc.).  Print copies of this catalogue will be at our monthly club meetings.  Books may be checked out only by dues-paying society members.  Anyone wishing to check out a book in the month of December must have their dues paid in full for the following year.  If you wish to borrow a book, fill in the card on the inside cover of the book with the date and your name, then give the card to the society librarian.  Please return books within 30 days in the same condition as when checked out.  If a book is not returned within this time period, two notices will be given to return the book.  If for some reason the book cannot be found or is damaged or destroyed, the individual checking out the book will be charged the cost of replacing the book.  We welcome donations of books to add to our collection, with preference for new books that hold content of obvious and immediate pertinence to our hobby.  To donate books, please contact our librarian to make sure they would be suitable additions, then bring them to one of our monthly meetings.  Thank you!
